Residence permit for non-EU entrepreneurs establishing an innovative, scalable business in Denmark. The business plan must first be approved by an independent expert panel under the Danish Business Authority.

Requirements

  • Business plan approved by the Start-up Denmark expert panel; ordinary shops and restaurants do not qualify
  • Full or part ownership and an active role in running the business
  • Funds for the first year at 2026 levels: DKK 153,240 for one person, DKK 306,480 with a spouse, or DKK 356,904 with a spouse and children
  • Maximum 75 permits are granted per calendar year

  • Work is limited to the approved business
  • Annual quota of 75 permits

Tips

  • Apply to the expert panel first; the residence application opens after approval
  • Only 75 permits are available per year; applications after mid-June queue for the August evaluation round
  • Co-founders can apply on the same business plan (each needs panel approval)
