Points-based scheme for highly skilled or talented individuals to settle in Hong Kong without a prior job offer, via a General Points Test or an Achievement-based test for people with exceptional accomplishments.

Requirements

  • Aged 18+ with no criminal or adverse immigration record
  • Financially self-sufficient for yourself and any dependants
  • First degree from a recognized university (or exceptional documented technical ability)
  • General Points Test: meet the passing mark across 12 criteria (age, education, experience, language, family background)
  • Achievement-based test: exceptional achievement such as an Olympic medal, Nobel prize or comparable national/international award

Tips

  • Meeting the points threshold does not guarantee selection
  • Nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba and North Korea are ineligible
  • TTPS is usually faster for eligible applicants; QMAS remains available without a top-100 degree or HKD 2.5 million income
