Residence permit for non-EU nationals who will run their own business in Sweden. Migrationsverket assesses the business plan, your industry experience and your finances.

Requirements

Significant experience in the industry and previous experience running a business
Documented ownership and controlling responsibility for the Swedish business
Realistic business plan showing the business can support you (and any family) after 2 years
Sufficient funds to support yourself for the first 2 years (approx. SEK 200,000 for the applicant, plus SEK 100,000 per accompanying spouse and SEK 50,000 per child)
Relevant Swedish or English language skills

Tips

Most refusals cite unrealistic budgets or limited industry experience
You cannot take employment with another employer on this permit
An existing profitable Swedish business can provide more evidence of viability than a new venture
