5-year multiple-entry visa (180 days per entry) for remote workers, freelancers and ‘Thai soft power’ activity participants (Muay Thai, cooking schools, medical stays).

Requirements

  • Age 20 or older
  • Funds of at least THB 500,000, held for 3+ months (seasoning enforced since May 2026)
  • Remote work/freelance evidence for the workcation track, or enrollment proof for soft-power activities
  • Apply from outside Thailand via the official e-visa system

Restrictions

  • No employment with Thai companies; remote foreign-source work only

Tips

  • Leaving and re-entering resets the 180-day allowance, but frequent use may draw immigration scrutiny
  • DTV does not permit local employment or qualify for a Thai work permit
  • Stays over 183 days/year can make you a Thai tax resident
